Connect your Upwork account
ProposalLift reads the job feed through the Upwork API, so jobs arrive with their full details rather than a scraped summary.
Save a filter
Set skills, budget, client country, experience level, and the extra filters below. Hosted plans include up to 4 saved filters.
Turn on alerts
Enable desktop alerts on the filter, and add a webhook if you want new matches delivered while you are away.
Act on the match
Open the job from the notification, check the qualification badge, and generate a proposal from your persona and portfolio.
Filters that go beyond Upwork search
Some of the most useful signals cannot be expressed in Upwork's own search, so ProposalLift applies them to every fetch before a job reaches your feed or your alerts.
Competition level
A low, medium, or high band derived from the number of applicants, with a slider for the exact range you want.
Freelancer location preference
Include, exclude, or require the client's preferred freelancer locations, which Upwork search does not filter on.
Excluded keywords
Drop posts that mention stacks, industries, or phrases you never take on.
AI qualification
Describe your niche in plain language. Each job is graded qualified or disqualified against it, for 0.5 credits per job graded.
Already applied
Jobs your connected Upwork account already applied to are marked, so you do not waste time on a post you already applied to.
Keyword highlighting
Your key terms are highlighted in each post, so you can scan a match in seconds.

Each webhook delivery carries up to 10 new jobs. A webhook that fails 5 times in a row is paused, and you get an email so you can fix the URL.
What job alerts do and do not do
What it does
- Watch your saved filters and flag jobs you have not seen yet.
- Apply filters Upwork search does not offer before a job reaches you.
- Send matches to your own tools through a webhook.
What it does not do
- Apply to jobs or spend Connects. Alerts only tell you a job exists.
- Submit proposals. You review and send every proposal yourself.
- Promise that every match is a fit. Filters and qualification narrow the list, and you still judge each post.
Job alerts in the open-source edition
The free, self-hosted edition includes the same filters, desktop alerts, and webhook delivery. Background webhook checks need a scheduler that you set up yourself, and that scheduler only works on a publicly reachable deployment, not on localhost.
