The short answer

Use Prozilio if you want one tool for your whole freelance career: proposals, a resume, interview prep, and analytics on what is closing. Use ProposalLift if Upwork is where you work, finding the right jobs is the expensive part, and you want the option to run the software yourself.

Of everything we compare against, Prozilio's messaging is the closest to ours. Personas, projects as proof, a scorer before you spend Connects: we arrived at similar answers independently.

Where Prozilio is the better choice

• You want more than proposals. Resumes exportable as a PDF or a link, and interview prep tuned to the brief, are outside our scope entirely. We do Upwork proposals and nothing else.
• You want to see what is working. Send, view, and win rates per persona is real feedback, and we do not offer it today.
• You want a free plan, not a trial. Five AI credits a month continues after the 14-day trial ends. Our trial expires and then requires a plan.
• Your work is not only Upwork. A career OS travels with you. Our product assumes Upwork is the platform.

Where ProposalLift is the better choice

• Jobs should come to you. Saved filters and job alerts surface matching posts as they appear. Prozilio scores what you open, which still leaves you doing the searching.
• Qualification in your own words. AI Job Qualify grades each job against criteria you write, rather than a single 1 to 10 number, and tells you which criterion failed.
• Proof chosen automatically. Your saved projects are ranked against each job by semantic similarity, so the right past work lands in the draft without you picking it.
• A real agency mode. Shared personas, portfolio, templates, and a credit pool across seats.
• You can own the stack. The open-source edition is AGPL-3.0, uses your own OpenAI and Upwork credentials, runs on Docker and Supabase, and sends no telemetry. Nobody else in this comparison offers that.

A fair caveat

This is the comparison where the feature grid flatters us least, and it should. Prozilio does several things we do not, and its persona and project model solves the same problem ours does. If you want breadth across your freelance career rather than depth on one platform, it is a reasonable choice over us.

Our bet is narrower on purpose. Upwork has a job feed worth querying, a Connects economy worth optimizing, and an apply page worth automating the boring half of. Going deep there is what a general career tool cannot do, and the open-source edition means you are not trusting us with any of it if you would rather not.
